Habitat for Humanity

Has anyone seen the new commercial for Habitat for Humanity? The lady attempts to take the lid off of a can and she takes the roof off of the house. The message is that not everyone can afford both food and shelter. I think it is an amazing ad and a simple way of getting a point across. Very impressive. Habitat for Humanity has certainly done a great job at getting their point across in a visual sense and translating it into feeling. Kudos to them! Wonderful advertising for a wonderful cause!

I actually saw this ad today while I was enjoying my splendid Good Friday off. I agree with you about the validity and power of this commercial. At first it leaves the viewer a little confused about what the cause could be, and I think it could be applied to many causes. I’m glad that Habitat picked up on these nuances because it was extremely effective for me as a viewer. Great thought Erin.

I haven’t seen the ad but it certainly sounds interesting. There are some bright ad campaigns around. It scares me, in a way, because we are entering this business realm and will have to work with and compete with marketing campaigns like this one.
I guess if you work with a great company, like Habitat for Humanity, then the creative juices may come easier.

I saw this commercial. And it really did send the message. It reminded me of the commercial they made where the woman is explaining her life and then slips and spills hot water on her.

I always love me a good commercial, but no matter how effective it may be to watch it would be interesting to find out how effective in terms of volunteers or donations this commercial really created.
